The Swift Singers Are Back

Wow! What a concert! The Swift Singers, like everyone else, have not been able to hold a concert for more than two years but they came back with a bang on 23rd  April at Holy Trinity Church when they sang their hearts out supported by their long-time friends Croydon Male Voice Choir.

If you weren’t there you missed a treat and should look out for future concerts.

Not only did the choir welcome their guests from Croydon but this was their first concert with their new musical director, Tim Rhys-Morgan, so a new experience for everyone and it was a triumph.

After the concert the two choirs got together at The Village Hall for some relaxation and informal singing so a great evening for everyone.

Our final concert for our 30th Anniversary year was also Clive's last performance with the Swift Singers. We welcomed the Leigh Orpheus Choir to South Woodham Ferrers for a combined Christmas concert- Gaudete.

Both choirs performed a selection of traditional, modern and quirky christmas music, including Gaudete, This Little Babe, The First Nowell, Jingle Bells, Winter Solstice, A Guiding Star.  Janet and Clive performed a wonderful duet and both choirs joined for a rousing performance of the Hallelujah Chorus.

We were fundraising for Clive's chosen charity - Barrow Farm Riding for the Disabled, and were able to send them a sizable donation after the evening.

At the end of the concert both choirs presented Clive with retirement gifts, including a photobook with memorable moments from the Swift Singers last 25 years!

I think all agreed that the evening was a great success!
